High End or Low End | Is There a Difference? | Primers

Monday, 12 October 2015

I love me some good primers. Benefit porefessional primer is one of my holy grail and will always re-buy. But with NikkieTutorials on youtube raving about a £5.35 Mend aftershave balm as one of the best primers you can get your hand on, I just had to write about it!

Here are my top 4 primers
Smashbox Photo finish Primer - £25.50
L'oreal Lumi Magique Primer - £9.99
Benefit The Porefessional Primer - £24.50
Nivea Men Sensitive After Shave Balm - £5.35

The best one for looking good in pictures in obviously the one that has photo finish in its name, Smashbox. It gives a flawless base for any foundation and makes your base look airbrushed. Lovely.

Want to have a luminous, healthy glowing look? L'oreal is the one for you. After applying your foundation on top on this primer it gives you the most amazing luminous glow to your face! But I would say it doesn't last long on me and wouldn't recommend it to someone with an extreme oily face.

Benefit's The Porefessional is one of the basics primer. It does what it says on the box, fills in your pores and makes your foundation look smoothed out and again airbrushed. Whats also good is that you can get a mini version of it in Boots if your on a tight budget.

Then we have an after shave. Yes, mens after shave can be your next primer! Check out NikkieTutorials on youtube to see and hear her raving about it! Honestly i've seen a lot of girls using this because of her! It has a lot of glicerine in it which acts like a glue to anything that's going on top of it, which makes it the perfect primer for anyone who wants their makeup to be long lasting! I usually wear this primer when going clubbing, sweat, melting makeup at the club? Say good bye to that if using this! And at £5 it doesn't hurt the bank!

What's your favorite primer? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time

Anastasia Beverly Hills Cream Contour Kit in Fair | Review

Thursday, 8 October 2015

Anastasia Beverly Hills has been one of the most talked about makeup brand in the last 2 years. Starting with their popular Brow Wiz that supermodel Cara Delevingne talked and raved about to get her infamous brows in shape, soon enough everybody has something from ABH.

In 2014 ABH bought out a cream and powder contour kits in Light, Medium and Dark. Both was a hit, with the cream contour kit becoming a ''must-see-youtube-tutorial-on-how-to-get-the-kim k- contour-look''

I really wanted the cream contour kit. I bought the powder kit in light and its great! Highly recommend! But something about a cream kit make me want to take my contour to the next level.
When I heard ABH was bringing out a fair contour kit I was excited! The light kit just seemed to dark for my fair skin.

I got my kit from Cult Beauty, great place to buy ABH. When the product arrived I couldn't wait to start to try it out.

The shades are from L-R
Soft Light a little bit yellow toned highlight
Luster a sheer, shimmery, luminous shade
Fair a neutral highlight shade

Fawn a grey toned contour shade
Shadow a more warmer toned contour shade
Minx a deep neutral toned contour shade

My favourites are Fair and Fawn for day time and Minx for a night time contour look. Fawn is the perfect colour for fair skin, its grey toned so it isn't to pink, yellow or orange. It's great to create the false shadow. I do think the highlight shades are still a bit dark for fair skin so I use the shade Fair on my face and then top it off with Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Chantilly.
Luster is odd. Do I like it or not? I don't know, for now i'll stick with my powder shimmer highlight shades.

But overall I really recommend this to any fair skinned people out there! Its fabulous! But it did damage but bank at £39 for some cream contour...ouch! Any dupes there?! Let me know in the comment below!

Available at Cult Beauty at £39

Until next time,

First Mac Palette - NEW Shades - Cranberry & Satin Taupe

Monday, 29 June 2015

Hi everyone!

So I'm back and this is my first proper post since being back and it's starts with a good one!
I've had my MAC palette for over a year now and still haven't finished it, so I thought with my voucher I got for my birthday I bought 2 new shades.

MAC Cranberry and Satin Taupe both very popular eyeshadows. I got Cranberry after using my Charlotte Tilbury ''Dolce Vita'' eyeshadow quad. It has this berry/burgundy shade in it and it went so well with my green eyes I thought that Cranberry would be good for me.

And of course, Satin Taupe one of the most popular Mac shadow you can get. I don't know why I haven't bought this before?! It's such a lovely colour that goes with every skin shade and eye colour.

Cranberry is a frost finish with pink/brown undertones. It blends easily and can be used as a everyday look or a smokey eye. Goes fabulous with green eyes.

Satin Taupe is a frost finish and has a slight purple undertone to it. This is a universal shade as it can be worn on it's own or a dramatic smokey eye.

Overall I am very pleased with these eye shadows. What do you think about them? And what other mac eyeshadow would you recommend? Let me know in the comments below!

Until next time

I'M BACK! Update, Health and WHERE HAVE I BEEN?!

Thursday, 28 May 2015

Hi, hello, bonjour!! I am back! That's right the great (or not so great) myself is back blogging!

My last post was January the 4th 2015. As i'm writing this it's the 28th of May. Yup! 5 months of being away and being inactive not only my blog but my twitter also!

Basically I've been ill since I wrote my last post on my blog. And it's only now that i'm better. My life has stopped for a good 4 months, being in and out of hospital, doctors not getting what was wrong with me, missing out on 18th birthday parties, missing hanging out with friends and so on. It wasn't until I went privet that they discovered something wrong with my gallbladder. There's a whole lot more to my health but it's so long I don't want to bore you. Anyway got surgery, recovered and it turns out my gallbladder was chronically inflamed and was poisoning my blood. Great.

But now i'm well enough to do stuff and live my life!! Hooray!

So just a quick little post saying that i'll be back blogging again soon!

(I watched a lot of Pretty Little Liars on Netflix whilst being ill ha!)

2015 Blog Resolutions | Annalalee

Sunday, 4 January 2015

Happy New Year!!

Even though I started this blog in summer 2013 I wasn't the one to be really into blogging, mainly writing 1 post a month. Come September 2014 I really started to blog. I would post more than 1 post in October, November and December. So really, late 2014 I really started to blog.

So what are my 2015 blog resolutions?

To Keep My Blog Updated - I don't want to go down the route of posting once a month again. I want to at least write 10 post a month.

Blogging Is a Hobby, Not a Chore - I've been very stressed with my blog in the last couple of months, thinking I need to get followers, post a lot, post on twitter etc and it really did get to me. I was very stressed with everything and I don't want it to be like that! Starting this blog was just a hobby and time passing for when I was doing nothing in the summer. And that's what I want it to be like. Hobby not a Chore.

Follow More Blogs - I'm really bad at finding other blogs that I like, you could just say im very lazy (lol) but I would make it my effort this year to follow lots of blogs!

Talk More - I really need to start getting into the #bbloggers chat. And commenting on blog post. I don't know why I don't it's not like it's a hard thing to do is it?

Make a YouTube Video - I know this isn't blog related but I've always wanted to do youtube. Little known fact I actually did videos back in 2010, makeup tutorials, hauls etc but then my school friends found my youtube and I was so embarrassed that I stopped and deleted my channel and videos. I regret that decision. Imagine where I would be now if I hadn't stopped?!

Make a Friend - I really want to make a friend through blogging. I just think it's a fantastic way of becoming friends with the same hobby as you!

Write More Baking Posts - I really love to bake! And I got this idea in December of ''hey I should write baking post!'' So watch this space for more braking recipes!

And that's all I can think of! Have you got any resolutions? I'm never the one to make resolutions since I always brake them haha. Hopefully this year I wont!

Let me know in the comments what are you resolutions!

The Exact Kylie Jenner Lip Liner | MAC Soar

Monday, 29 December 2014

2014 has been all about Kylie Jenner's lips. From how did she get them so big?! & What did she use?! And of course the big debate of did she or didn't she get them done? Personally I think she did...I have yet to see a tutorial that get's them exactly like her's...

Anyway moving on, There has been many suggestions on what she use. The top 3 are MAC's Velvet Teddy Lipstick, Whirl and Soar Lip liner. Trying to get one of these products is so hard. Everywhere is sold out. But when I saw ''Soar'' available on the MAC website I didn't even hesitate to buy it.

I was very excited to try this lip liner out. I'm never the one to wear lipliners. Plus I only had 1 other MAC lip liner. When it arrived it wasn't what I expected. Brace yourself for the worst dry lips...

I was very disappointed with the colour. In this picture it looks like it has red undertones to it. And for me in real life it washes me out completely. Looking at pictures online it has more of a pink, mauve undertones to it. My lips are very pigmented so maybe that has a lot to do with it. Or maybe i just got a failed one? I have no idea! Let me know if you also think this is wrong.

But what other lip liners have you tried? Every tried whirl, soar and velvet teddy before? Let me know!

Full Coverage Foundations #3 | Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation

Saturday, 20 December 2014

Back when I was on accutane - a acne medication for severe acne - my face obviously broke out to the max! Going through bottles of ''full coverage foundation'' and none of them really gave me the satisfaction, I cam across this little number.

This to me is my all time favorite full coverage foundation. A little goes a long way and its very pigmented, great for covering redness and imperfections. This was my go to foundation whilst on that medication simply because how it didn't irritate my skin, didn't brake me out, covered all my acne and was very long lasting!

Being a mousse texture foundation it's easy to blend and instantly gives a full coverage. It does has a slight fragrance to it but you can not smell it once it's on your face. Another good point is that this foundation has a satin finish. Great for those with dry skin!

Available in 10 shades this retails for £34 and you can get it here

Have you tried this foundation? Let me know!

Until next time
